High frequency seasonal stream gage measurements from Von Guerard Stream at F6 in Taylor Valley, Antarctica from 1990 to present

Summary

Abstract: 

As part of the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, a systematic sampling program has been undertaken to monitor the glacial meltwater streams in that region. This package contains data pertaining to continuous monitored water quality and quantity parameters measured with automatic recording devices on streams in this region. Specifically, this metadata record describes the hydrology data set for the McMurdo Dry Valley's Von Guerard Stream at F6, located in the Fryxell Basin of Taylor Valley. Measurements commenced during the 1990-91 season. The Von Guerard Stream gage (at -77.608269, 163.253853) was removed on 20 Dec 2012 due to lake level rise. A new gage upstream (at -77.609210, 163.254203) has been in use since the 2012-2013 season.
