As part of the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, a systematic aqueous geochemical sampling program has been undertaken. A series of terrestrial water samples have been collected and analyzed for dissolved organic carbon levels. This dataset shows concentrations of dissolved organic carbon found in various streams of the McMurdo Dry Valleys.

As part of the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, water was diverted to a relict stream channel in order to reactivate the streamflow. The purpose of this experiment was to quantify the time scales of response to the arrival of water after many years of dessication. This table contains data showing nutrients for the Relict Channel in the Fryxell basin.

As part of the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, a systematic sampling program has been undertaken to monitor the glacial meltwater streams in that region. This table contains macronutrient concentrations (nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, soluble reactive phosphorus) found at specific locations in McMurdo Dry Valley streams.

As part of the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, a systematic aqueous geochemical sampling program has been undertaken. A series of terrestrial water samples have been collected and analyzed for dissolved total nitrogen levels. This dataset shows concentrations of total nitrogen (in filtered samples) found in various streams of the McMurdo Dry Valleys.

As part of the McMurdo Dry Valleys, Long Term Ecological Research (MCM-LTER) project in Antarctica, a LiCl tracer was injected into Andersen Creek in the Lake Hoare basin on 17 December 2012. The purpose of this study was to determine the fate of stream water below lake ice. Injection began at 20:30 hours and continued for two hours. Water samples were collected at half-hour intervals from 5 stream sites and 15 ice boreholes over a 4 hour period beginning at the start of injection. Samples were analyzed for major cations and major anions using an ion chromotograph at McMurdo Station.

As part of the new Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica, a systematic aqueous geochemical sampling program has been undertaken. A series of terrestrial water samples have been collected and analyzed for major ion chemistry by ion chromatography. The concentrations of ions cover a wide range of total dissolved solids (TDS) from relatively pristine glacier ice to hypersaline lake waters.

As a part of the McMurdo Dry Valleys LTER program, isotope ratios have been determined for 166 samples of stream water in Taylor Valley, Antarctica. Hydrogen/deuterium isotope ratios are given for all samples, and for a subset, there are oxygen isotope ratios, and a deuterium-excess. Values are reported relative to VSMOW, +/- 1.0 per mil for hydrogen, and +/- 0.1 for oxygen.

Snow patches within and adjacent to stream channels in the Fryxell Basin of Taylor Valley, Antarctica were sampled during the 2021-2022 austral summer as part of the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term Ecological Research program. This data package includes snow pit measurements (snow temperature, depth, density, and water equivalent) as well as chemical characteristics of snow samples that were analyzed for nutrient, cation, and anion concentrations.
