Stephen is a PhD student at the University of British Columbia. He is interested in how maps and geographic analysis can be used to explore the relationships between social and environmental systems. As part of the LTER, Stephen is working with Dr. Adrian Howkins to create a spatial archive of historical documents, photographs, and oral interviews related to the McMurdo Dry Valleys. These data will be used to trace the history of human-environment coupling in this unique setting.
